Please Pray...

I just received this email from a great friend of mine and am hoping that everyone who reads my blog will please join us in praying for Dian.

Hello Precious Friends and Family,

It's me again... Some of you may be aware that Dian has had high blood pressure for the past 2 or so years. To make a long story short, we were starting to see a Dr. to get this under control. The Dr. was supposed to give Dian an echocardiogram yesterday to find out what's making his BP so high. Well the nurse called yesterday morning to say that Dian's blood tests had come back and that his levels were way off and that we needed to go to the ER right away and that his echo was cancelled.

D and I went to the ER at 4pm yesterday. They admitted him right away with no waiting in the waiting room b/c his BP was so high (around 220/135). They've ran tests on him and started him on some meds to bring the BP down. They were afraid that he would stroke...

His BP has come down but his potassium levels are still critically low. After us being in a room in the ER for 6 hours last night, around 10pm the took him to ICU. Unfortunately I'm not able to stay with him there and had to come home. He just called me about a half hour ago (6:55am) to let me know that they've put him on a potassium drip. He said that when the potassium hits his blood it feels like fire rushing through his body. His in quite a bit of pain and for my husband to complain about pain, you know he's really hurting as he NEVER complains!

I'm only allowed to see him during visiting hours for 1/2 an hour... and there are only 3 times in the day that they have visiting hours. Needless to say, seeing my husband for only 1 1/2 hours today isn't going to be the easiest. PLEASE pray that his body becomes stable and that they can move him out of ICU and put him into a private room so we can stay together the entire day.
