Their Slogan Says It All...

Ever since moving to Florida just over three years ago Publix has been my absolute favorite food store to shop at. They continually go above and beyond in all they do and today was no exception. For the past couple of weeks Jeff has been doing all the grocery shopping at our house (he's awesome to handle this for me!) and today when he brought home the food, it came with an added bonus. Now if you are a salmon person and know anything about salmon, you should know that fresh wild salmon is WAY better than frozen farmed salmon, but also is WAY more expensive. We usually only buy the farmed stuff (fresh or frozen depending on the price) because it's so much cheaper, but this week Publix had a great sale on fresh wild alaskan salmon ($9.99/lb - usually close to double that around here). So with such a great sale I asked Jeff to pick us up a couple of pounds. When he brought it home I was surprised and thrilled to see the care that was used in packing it - it was in a plastic bag on a styrofoam plate thing that was filled with ice and then all wrapped in plastic. Seriously, do you think Walmart or any other regular grocery store is packing everyone's fish on ice for them?! It's the little things like that that continue to bring me back.
