Great Chris News...

So I just found out that Chris is doing awesome. The great news is that he's going to be transferred to a hospital a lot closer to home (and one that my Aunt works as a nurse in) TODAY! He may actually already be there, but if not, really soon. This is great news because the original time line was a minimum of two weeks, but up to six months before he could be transferred, but it hasn't even been two weeks yet! This is going to make it a ton easier on all the family as they'll be able to actually sleep and do everything from home, rather than a trailer parked at a church a couple blocks from the hospital.

The nurses and doctors cut back on his sedation a couple days ago and he has reacted really well. He woke-up pretty easily and started communicating (without words) to the doctors and even recently started moving his arm and laughing at jokes.

They are going to remove the respirator, but leave the tracheotomy in, as he has started to breathe on his own.

The doctors said that all that is now needed in going forward is some bone work and plastic surgery.

This is all rather unexpected news! We are so excited but there is still a lot of prayer needed. Please continue to pray for Chris' complete healing and praise God for all that he has done so far. Thank you for standing with the family during this time, your prayers have meant and continue to mean a ton to Chris and his family.
